Thank you all for those who participated in this year's Nengajo Contest! We had total of 1,240 participants from the elementary school to the high school level for this year's contest.
There were few numbers of cards that arrived on time this year, but had so many excellent cards that the judges had a hart time deciding on the top 3 winners for each category.
We also had a help from the professional this year. Kazuo Maekawa, a professional manga artist from Japan came to give his expertise! We have 3 cards that received the first Kazuo Maekawa Award as the honorable mention.
All of the Nengajo cards of the winners and the non-winners that represented each school will be on display at the Shirokiya Village Walk sometime at the end of December for about 10 days. We will keep you posted when we have more details.
Thank you to all of the Japanese teachers who continue to teach this great tradition of Japan to your students. We hope to see you next year's Nengajo Contest! 2021 is the Year of Ox 丑年(うしどし).
