Happy New Year once again. Wishing you all good health and prosperity for the year ahead. Following last year's wildfire in Maui, this year began with another disaster, likely stirring various concerns in everyone's hearts. To those affected by the earthquake in Ishikawa Prefecture, the airplane accident in Haneda, and the victims of last year's Maui disaster, our heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery and the swift return of peaceful days. The year 2024, the Year of the Dragon, may continue to be a year of significant societal change. Witnessing the last year's 紅白歌合戦, I observed a program that deviated from past norms. It vividly showcased the diversity of Generation XYZ, reflecting the varied landscape of online media. We are on the brink of an era where the participation of digital natives is expanding, reshaping our organizations and societies. The younger generation, accustomed to a multitude of information, is already present, ready to create new value systems. In this age of diversity, both the young and experienced will work together, blending wisdom and expertise to create pioneering avenues. As we navigate these times of change, strategies and approaches to turn the impossible into possible become increasingly crucial. In the middle of a transformation, my sincere hope is that the coming year will be fulfilling and filled with hope and joy for all of you. BNYSG Presents Special Workshop by Ms. Yoshiko Abbott Saito Saturday, November 11 We are pleased to announce a special Boston x New York Joint Workshop to be held during the NECTJ Annual Conference on November 11-12, 2012. We have invited Ms. Yoshiko Abbott Saito of the University of California, Monterey Bay, who is a proponent of standards-based education in the field of Japanese language education, to join us for a special workshop to review what 21st century Japanese language education should be like under her guidance, to reconsider what we as teachers should be like, and to think together about concrete action plans. We will also reconsider what we should be as teachers and come up with a concrete action plan together with you. We look forward to your participation!
