We are reaching out to you to share the exciting results of the 2025 Nengajō Contest and an invitation to the Teacher's Huddle meeting/ Shinnenkai on Saturday, January 25th.
The contest received an impressive 30 entries from elementary schools, 10 entries from middle schools, and 109 entries from high schools!
2025 Nengajō Contest Results:
We had outstanding submissions this year, showcasing the incredible talent and dedication of our students and teachers.
We want to express our gratitude to all the participants, students, and teachers, and acknowledge the hard work put forth by each individual.

We’re serving OZŌNI! RSVP by Thursday, January 23rd!
To ensure we have enough OZŌNI for everyone, please use this Google Form to let us know if you are attending by Thursday, January 23rd. Time: 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM
Location: Sacred Hearts Academy, Room A110
Format: In-Person Meeting (For those on the outer islands or unable to attend in person, a Zoom link will be provided. Please reply to this email by Thursday, January 23rd to request access.)

- Awards for Nengajō Winners: Prizes and certificates will be distributed to teachers, who are asked to present them to their students at their respective schools. (Please note that students are not allowed to attend.)
- Presentation on JASH Programs
- Lighthouse SDGs Poster Announcement
- Let’s play Japanese New Year’s games together!
- Game stations include:
- Hyakunin Isshu, Karuta
- Kendama, Daruma Otoshi
- Fukuwarai
- Hanetsuki, Koma
- Game stations include:
- Ozōni will be served!
- In the spirit of New Years, dress up in a kimono or yukata, if you would like to.
- Non-members are welcome!
