The focus of the workshop is on designing a thematic unit that promotes active and engaging learning experiences that support the four domains of the Global Competence Framework: Investigate the World, Recognize Perspectives, Communicate Ideas, and Take Action.
Instructional strategies that elicit critical thinking, responsible social action, problem-solving, and innovative learning will be explored using authentic Japanese cultural texts and other resources.
Participants will create a unit plan during the workshop.

$10 ($5 for students & attendees from neighbor islands) – checks must arrive on or before Monday, April 1, 2019
If your check arrives after April 1, 2019, additional $10 will be collected at the door (additional $5 for students, attendees from neighbor islands will NOT receive the link for online conference tool)
Non-member
$20 for checks received on or before April 1, 2019 ($30 after April 1, 2019)
$10 for attendees from neighbor islands (neighbor island attendees must mail in the checks by April 10, 2019, in order to receive the link for the video conference)
