Hawaii Association of Teachers of Japanese has decided to cancel the spring conference and workshop that was originally scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2020, in order to adhere to the new guideline dated March 16, 2020, in which we should avoid any type of social gathering of 10 or more people. https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/03.16.20_coronavirus-guidance_8.5x11_315PM.pdf ).
We are hoping to reschedule the event in the fall as the HATJ Fall Conference with Azama Sensei. Because of the guideline, we will not be holding Benkyo-kai until such social gatherings are deemed to be safe.
Elena Yoo, the webmaster will contact you individually if you had sent in the bento order check whether you would want the check returned or you agree to leave them with her. Unfortunately, your check will not be good until the fall, so it will be automatically voided.
Check out some of the resources on the HATJ website and the HATJ member only Schoology pages for distant learning, etc. We hope you and your family will stay healthy and stay positive! We hope to see you soon in this wonderful community.
